Cancel a PayPal Transfer
- On the PayPal sign-in screen, click “Log in” (see Resources).
- Click “Log in” after entering your PayPal email address and password.
- To access your account and cancel the PayPal transfer, click “Proceed to account overview.”
- Locate the pending payment by clicking the “Summary” button at the top of the page. If the money you sent displays the phrase “Completed” next to it, it signifies the transaction has already occurred and you cannot cancel the PayPal payment. If you notice the phrases “Unclaimed” or “Hasn’t been accepted yet,” you can still cancel the PayPal payment.
- Check the pending payment to be sure you’re canceling the proper transaction. You will not be able to cancel a PayPal transaction after you have done so.

- On the PayPal sign-in screen, click “Log in” (see Resources).
- Click “Log in” after entering your PayPal email address and password.
- To access your account, click “Proceed to account summary.”
- At the top of the screen, click the “Summary” button, then the “Pre-approved payments” tab, and finally “Manage pre-approved payments.”
- Check the pre-approved payment to be sure you’re cancelling the proper transaction.
- Under the preapproved payment, click the phrase “Cancel.” You will be prompted to confirm the payment cancellation. To finish the procedure and terminate the PayPal transaction, click “Cancel payment.”

Important Note
If you want to cancel or halt an order, you must contact the business or individual to find out what alternatives you have for getting a refund or cancelling the sale. If the payment has been completed, you may contact the person or firm that received the funds and request a return.
Payments that have been outstanding for more than 30 days are cancelled and returned automatically. Pre-authorized payments must be cancelled within 24 hours of the next scheduled payment, or your account will be debited.
